Solution
Do you have a pic of you strip and connectors?
All 12v led strips I have came with red and black wires already on them. Just connect Red to + and Black to -

Do you want to power it from your pc? But you don't have a connector?
Just connect the + to the yellow of any power supply lead and the - to a black one. Cover well with wire insulation tape. If either one of those touches anything else in your PC, it can quite easily destroy it so be careful to insulate well.

It sounds like you don't have a spare connector like he does though.

What I did is pull a black and yellow wire out of the molex and push my black and red led wires into them.

It's obviously better to solder the wires together but this makes it permanent. Maybe just go to a pc store and buy a splitter, then you can cut the wires on the splitter and do a nice job that allows you to remove and reconnect the leds later.

Just be careful though - if your led strips aren't of the waterproof variety, then you have exposed 12v wires along them and if anything touches that it will be trouble.
