I play games on the PC using mouse and keyboard setup quite regularly. Anytime I play games that make me use the AWSD setup I notice stress in my left forearm when pressing the buttons. It starts after only five minutes of starting the game session. Any tips for reducing the stress on my arm so I can get back to gaming?

Make sure your whole left arm is basically at nearly a 90 degree angle when playing. It's all about ergonomics, keeping your arm in an awkward position can cause irritation and minor pain.

Also put some money into a good wrist wrest or a new chair if necessary. A bad chair can also be the cause of the problem.

RSI (repetitive stress injury) is common among gamers and computer users. There's lots of material out there on how to avoid it. Read up on it. I went through it during grad school and it's not fun. I'd say read up on it and take steps to mitigate it now, before the problem becomes worse. My case got quite advanced, and the doctor basically told me to stop typing or playing piano for 2 months. Which is kinda hard to do when you're in a grad program writing code. I ended up having to type for two months by holding a pen in my right hand balled into a fist, and using the pen to press keys. So basically no games and my coding productivity went WAY down.

The pain is in your forearm because the muscles for moving your fingers are in the forearm.
