I've installed a new video card (msi r9 390) using hdmi and then installed the latest drivers. However text is blurry and the sides of the screen are cut off, like its not detecting my video card. But both windows (10) and the amd drivers recognize my card. It seemed to be working for a minute but then windows made a sound the screen went black and then it was messed up when it came back. How can I fix this, did windows 10 auto install bad drivers or something?

Possibly Windows borfed the drivers with an update.
I personally turn off auto update and review all updates before installing.
I don't let Windows update hardware drivers and prefer to do that from the official sites if it's an issue.
You can hide Windows updates that you don't want.
Sounds to me like it may have also screwed up the resolution of your display.
Download official driver here:

If the writing or text on the desktop or in a text document looks like the caricatures are fuzzy and part of the pixels of each letter are missing, or look patchy or faded.

The resolution set for your monitor may of changed.
Or if using a Hdmi, or a Dvi-d video lead, the resolution may be set to interlaced mode.

Right click on your windows desktop and go to screen resolution.

Click on the advanced settings tab in the new box that opens.
Then click on list all modes.
If the current resolution selected and highlighted by a blu bar says interlaced.
Select a resolution set to 60Hz without interlaced mode.
And click apply.

Tried those drivers, they didn't work either. Seems to be whenever I install the drivers it messed up, when I uninstall them it fits the screen and doesn't look blurry... really confused here

Okay so I tried another monitor and it works fine on there. Now the question is why won't it work on the other monitor (which is technically a tv, but its 60hz) when integrated intel graphics worked fine?

Edit: solved by changing to rgb mode in catalyst.
