Hello, I have purchased this laptop since some months now, However It had a little overheating problem (As known for configuration of i7-9750H and GTX 1660 Ti) So I tried undervolting both CPU and GPU and very little OC on both while UV is applied, Temps are good on idle and on some small - medium games with ULTRA settings at 1080p, However in intensive games or Stress testing (to check my UV and etc..) It is still quite throttling and overheating (GPU >84 and CPU >88) I have tried repasting many times because sometimes I feel my paste job is bad (Every month and a week I find dust so I clean the laptop and change paste, which makes sometimes thermals bad or "normal")

So if anyone knows please, Help me fix this overheating once and for good
Another question: MSI afterburner OC scan fails sometimes randomly after playing game or stress testing (Just noticed it so liked to say) If someone has a word on this, please go on.

P.S - Using performance mode on Vantage, Some people suggested removing vantage as a whole but I find it very useful, however if really needed I can remove it.
P.S - I don't want to use stock settings and disable OC (like CPU stay on 2.6, etc) it is not acceptable lol.

Thanks!

Don't overclcok anything on a laptop. They have marginal cooling systems.
Thank you for response, It is not an Actual OC, it is just turbo boost from Intel (And with UV i just made it not go too far, I mean not exceeding 4 GHz and still throttling in heavy games and stress tests for somereason), Same goes for GPU, I am not OCing it really hard, Just +100 on core, nothing serious, still without me manually OC the GPU would still overheat.

Restore bios and see if you still have problems.

Have you blown the dust out of the laptop? Everything helps.

Yeah done that and As I said re applied thermal paste, Although I don't know if it was done the right way or not because each time I do it I see differenet temps, but CPU is good with the current method, not really good when stress testing although..

Update: I have noticed that my GPU is kind of stuck on some sort of OC, as a GTX 1660 Ti mobile, it should 1400-1500 Mhz on core, Which is not, it starts at 1650 and up to 1840 ! anyone knows how to fix that without reinstalling windows?

Can you do anything to slow it down and boost fan speed using MSI Afterburner?

Is there any software provded with the laptop that is used for performance enhancement (eg MSI Dragon)?
-As always, fan speed is locked in most laptops, if not all, so that is not possible, However I can increase them using lenovo vantage software which also increases performance (more heat > more fan speeds)
-Yes, Lenovo Vantage, it has 3 profiles: quiet, balanced and performance modes (slow fan and GHz) --> (High fan and GHz)

Okay I have removed it, Now I have an actual control on my OC and I have re applied it carefully, GPU heating and CPU heating is fixed , Furmark resutls here : View: https://imgur.com/a/UhzATKs
don't know if it is good since it kind of heats up aswell, but Dekstop variants reach 78 celisuis on this one so lol..
It appeared to be re applying some sort of volts and oc so that was bugging some random crashes + the very weird heating, Now my fans sucks that heat..

Just one thing to take note of: If you keep the GPU with MSI afterburner under some OC (even if Undervolted) this will cause the CPU to be used and add some 5 degrees, when testing with stress test of intel XTU, when clicking apply settings on MSI after burner it might get to 94 even with UV (which is still very safe tho) but when I remove that, I get around 86, But without UV the CPU, it would jump to 96 without applying GPU OC, jus t so if someone has this anyway, they could find my topic and say "That helped" also your suggestion about removing the software brought the idea, which I actually got from a friend But yours as a confirmation, so Thank you!

So - would you advise evryone to NOT use Lenovo Vantage ?
Depends actually on many things, but long story short:
If you are planning to customize everything yourself, you may uninstall (or just fresh install windows and never install) lenovo vantage and use intel xtu (or throttlestop) for your CPU, msi afterburner for your GPU, you will have to check drivers manually, You will lose conservative mode, Unless someone comes up with how we can use the software but without it interfering the settings we apply on CPU and GPU ..
