Hi

was hoping for some help as not up on all the different graphics cards.

I am looking to get a laptop to enable my children to play Lego worlds. the recommended spec is:

OS: Windows 7
Processor: AMD or Intel Quad Core running at 2.6GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 or ATI Radeon HD 5850 or better
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 10 GB available space

Now regarding the graphics can the Radeon R5/R6 work. I am loathed to go to a gaming laptop due to expense and want to keep budget below £500

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

If all you want is "playable" then the iGPU that comes with an intel i5 should be able to get you 30-40fps or better at low settings if you're willing to go down to 720p (from benchmarks I've seen). If you want to run at 1080p not at the lowest settings then you'll have to get a laptop with a better GPU. How much is something like this where you live? I feel like it would suit your needs pretty well.

EDIT: nvm this is a better deal

It would be a lot easier to build a desktop that meets these recommended specs for your budget, is there any particular reason that it needs to be a laptop? I'm sure with the minimum specs a new laptop with one of the better iGPUs will be able to at least run the game alright at lower settings. The R5 GPUs for laptops are pointless, they're usually not any faster than the iGPU. For laptops it's either the spring for the basic R7 lineup or use the iGPU in my opinion.

Space is the main issue - no room for a tower in the house. Laptop just easier to move around house and can be used at desks in bedrooms. Will look into the R7 or seems I may just bit the bullet and get a decent laptop
