My mother brought her laptop to me to fix after letting my nephews borrow it. Which resulted in the computer moving at an extremely slow pace.

Since the only thing, my mother had on the laptop that she cared about were her sims 4 characters. I spent a few hours getting the saved uploaded to my google drive. Then proceded to go the nuclear route formatting the HDD and starting from scratch just to get whatever was on there gone.

After reinstalling the OS I began the updating process, and after doing the first set of updates the computer will no longer boot in any fashion. From booting normals(forever stuck at windows logo), to repairing the boot, to safe mode (stops at 'Loaded: \windows\system32\config\system'), there other two safe mode booting options networking/command prompt(stops 'Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys'), and finally multiple attempts to boot the flash drive the OS is on to reinstall and attempt the updates one at a time to see what update is causing it... but nothing...

I'm now at a complete loss of what to do in this situation as I've never come across anything like this. Any google searches turn up some other issue where they can at least boot with a flash drive and take the nuclear route. I don't even have that option here.

Update: I had left the computer open trying to load into the boot repair... it took around 5 hours for it boot to that, and now seems to be booting into things instantly...
