lenovo cpu upgrade

hello. for lenovo thinkcentre m81 tower with cpu G630 i would like to do an upgrade to i5 2400 and i got 3 questions :

1.mainboard is socket 1155 so teoretically will suport i5 but practically they could be problems of compatibility ?

2. on lenovo the cpu cooling sistem is different or when i put the i5 i can mount the intel stock cooler ?

3. i need update bios ?

I doubt you would need to update the BIOS to run gen 2 chips, that was what it was intended for.

If possible, go ahead and get the stock cooler with the CPU you are buying. The 95W i5-2400 will need a little more cooling then the G630 at 65W. A cheap $15-20 aftermarket cooler would also work fine.

With a BIOS update it might be possible to run 3rd gen CPUs like the i5-3570, i5-3470, etc. But I wouldn't make the assumption unless Lenovo admits it.
