Hello

I've been having laptop problems for weeks finally got a new one thanks to a persistent it guy.

I got lenovo thinkpad e460 model 20ET0013US

For my job we use multiple monitors so that when we present online meetings. I need this to go to 2 external monitors, but it basically freezes when doing so using hdmi out, and a startech Usb to dvi which has always been great on other computers. But i can only use one external.

I've told my tech guy that this notebook has a Radeon card an r7.
He was surprised to hear that, and i asked him for the latest driver for which he was only comfortable installing one from lenovo website but they don't have the latest driver.

Long story short, I had the driver all downloaded, but he brought it back saying "i dont care the device manager says This has a Radeon IT DOESN'T HAVE AN r7 RADEON! "There's no such thing as an Intel processor with an amd gpu."
Yet I've seen many.

needless to say, I'm not sure what to tell him, but I don't have admin rights to install the right driver thus my computer being a pain in the ass again.

What should I do? Every site everywhere says this has it, cpuid says it has the r7, entering the serial number states it has it.

How do I get this amd driver installed!?

Incredibly late to the party here but this is hilarious. Your 'tech guy' needs a new title, nothing to do with tech, preferably. Did your IT guy not assume it wasn't an integrated gpu at all?

Now, i know you've probably solved this a while ago but... You google " AMD drivers " which will return you to their auto driver-downloader. If you don't care for their site it's here: TECH GUY
You just follow the next button from now, It'll do everything from there.

Your admin rights is also simple, if you follow these steps(may vary a little, upon your windows version).
Control panel > User Accounts > Change your account type - Administrator CLICK Radio button

or even easier: TECH GUY 😀

I hope you fixed your problem, and...
