Current System specs:
Lenovo Thinkpad E540
Intel Core i5-4200M @2.50GHz 2.49GHz (64-bit, x64 based processor)
Windows 10 Pro
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Intel HD 4600
500GB SSD

I have been looking to upgrade the GPU so that 4k video editing is easier, and the recommended GPU upgrade is the 'NVIDIA GeForce GT740M'.

Would that be a significant upgrade that's worth it?

Or is there a better GPU out there that's recommended?

I am aware that the GPU is in-built and would need dis-assembly to solder the new one to the motherboard.

Please advise.

Thank you,
Viren K.

^ It's not that simple, you can't just solder on the GPU. If anything you can't upgrade the GPU on the laptop. Plain and simple.
