Have a look at the specs on this system on Amazon. Good price $503. now $498

Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop, 14 Inch FHD Touchscreen Display, AMD Ryzen 5 3500U Processor, 12GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, Windows 10, 81SS000DUS, Black, Pen Included

It hits on most points that I want. Not intended for gaming. Just lots of web surfing, streaming videos online, casting to TV. I use lots of Chrome tabs at one time. That's about it.

Good processor, decent RAM, FHD 1080p, touchscreen, SSD.

I'd probably prefer 15 inch vs 14 inch display and all-metal chasis but can't have everything and the 15 inch models cost a lot more.

What do you think of it?

This one has 15" but is described as a "Flex 5" model rather than Flex 15. Not sure if that Flex 5 means it's a discontinued or obsolete model or not. When I Googled Lenovo Flex 5, and linked to Lenovo site, it says they are no longer available. It has only 8GB of RAM but it has a separate GPU with probably 4GB on it? And it's only $520.

The two CPUs are comparable: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-3500U-vs-Intel-Core-i5-8250U/m760067vsm338266

and that 15" is the size I prefer and has the separate GPU. The 14" Ryzen has 12 GB RAM, 2 GB will go to the graphics so that leaves 10 GB to use for the CPU.

Alternates are an HP Envy x360 which have more metal and cost more for similar specs. The ones I was looking at are over $700. I currently have one that's over 3 years old and is now deteriorating in its chassis, and the touchscreen is shot, battery shot. It's great but it's on its way out. I use my laptop all day and all night, nonstop. So I have gotten a lot of use out of it. Not sure if I should be upset about the things that have deteriorated, and watch out for HP as a result. The Lenovos costing $200 less has me looking at them.

I am buying on Amazon because I have a gift card balance to use there.
