I have a Lenovo G50-45 80e3 and I want to replace and upgrade the RAM as much as I can.
I am trying to understand the specifications in the hardware maintenance manual:

RAM: DDR3L, 1600MT/s MAX (arrow) 1 DIMM
DDR3L, 1333MT/s MAX (arrow) 2 DIMM

Standard memory • DDR3L, SODIMM × 1 / SODIMM × 2 (max 8 GB / 16 GB)

This is what I have now that the laptop came with:

SS M471B5674QH0-YK0 2G DDR3L 1600 &
M471B5173DB0-YK0 25nm 4GB DDR3L 1600

Can I replace my current RAM with 2 8GB DDR3L 1600? Or do they need to be 1333?

Solution
Your system supports only DDR3L type, i.e., 1.35v, not the standard DDR3 (1.5v)
DDR3L can operate at 1.35v and 1..5v also, but when a system is suggested for DDR3L, it most likely supports DDR3L only and hence a requirement for 1.35v memory only.

DDR3L 1600MHz, can under-clock to operate at 1333MHz in pentiums, celerons and certain core processors.

Your requirement should be DDR3L SODMM Memory type.

Thank you! One more question:

You said, "DDR3L 1600MHz, can under-clock to operate at 1333MHz". Is that something that will happen automatically or do i need to do that myself? If I need to do it, how do I do it?
