Lenovo Ideapad Y700 gaming (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare)

I have the above computer 17ISK version. As an FYI, the specs are the following: 16GB RAM, 500 GB SSD (where the game is stored), Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M 4GB, Intel i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz.

I meet all the minimum system requirements, but for the recommended, i believe i meet all but the GPU, as it recommends a GeForce GTX 970 and i have a GTX 960M.

I noticed this when i opened GeForce Experience, under the plugged in setting, it says that "my system doesn't meet all the minimum requirements for optimal settings in this game".

Am i just SOL here? Is there anything I can do besides just buying a new laptop?

Are you ok with 40 ish fps?
Or playing at 720p?
The game WILL START it just wont play 1080p 60fps

I am fine playing at lower quality/lower FPS. I played a couple hours yesterday and the gaming experience was fine, but my laptop was very stressed. The CPU temp was maxed out at around 100 Celsius and the GPU was also maxed at 92 Celsius. Any serious fixes for this? I plan to get a cooling pad. The laptop was on a wood table and the ambient temp of the room was favorable.
