I though these would be running AMD chips, instead of these shitty Mediatek ones.

Wow, the prices are pretty amazing. I have no familiarity with the processors in these--how do they compare with qualcomm and tegra offerings? Also, while I don't think throwing RAM at things necessarily yields a better product, I still believe that 2GB of RAM is a sweet spot for Android 4.1+. 1GB is a bit disappointing. But that price...time will indicate if the quality is there.
