Question Lenovo ipg3 if dont go place back metal what happen?

Hi guys ı have ideapad gaming 3 laptop and ı want to upgrade my ram but metal piece protect them, many people when place this metal back burning motherboard so i dont wanna risk to place this back it can be any problem in my laptop?

It is used for dissipating heat, shielding the ram from imf and possible static. If at all possible, best to keep it.
