i upgraded the t430 windows 10 pro to 500gb ssd. runs fast in booting, opening apps and programs but running out of rams.

im planning to upgrade the ram of my t430. it uses 1600mhz 4gb ram. il upgrade to 2x8gb ddr3l 1600mhz.

will it accept the 1.5v ram or 1.35 is really needed?

will the laptop heat up or overheat if i use the 1.5v?

is there a difference in the 1.5v and 1.35v?

thank you.

DDR3 = 1.5v
DDR3L = 1.35v
DDR4 = 1.35v

anyhow, if that t430 is running skylake or below, then don't sweat it. DDR3 should work just fine, no need to make it DDR3L. And from spec sheet, it's running 3rd gen intel so... yeah, 1.5v is the standard for that CPU

This is your cpu? https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-3320m-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-30-ghz.html
It won't matter if you use DDR3, DDR3L, or DDR3-RS - just don't mix them. You can only have one type in the mobo at a time.
My 2013 Toshiba laptop c55-A5310 came from the factory with 6GB 1333mhz memory, 1-2GB stick and 1-4GB stick an to my surprise when I changed them out I found the 2GB was 1.35Volts DDR3L and the 4GB was 1.5Volts DDR3. May be that is just a quirk of Toshiba laptops. Put in a Corsair 16GB set, 1.5volts.
