Hi all,

I've been trying to trouble shoot a non-working usb-c port on my laptop. Below are steps I've gone through and still couldn't get it to work. Please let me know if I missed anything that could have fixed this problem. I've done some reading and know there are a couple of Lenovo laptop models where their usb-c port dies, but I'm not sure if this is the case?

Problem: USB C port on laptop stopped working after laptop power suddenly turning off from low battery. I use the port for a J5 Create Hub to display my external monitors.

  • I've tested two different USB C hubs and both don't work
  • I am now using a usb 2.0 hub to connect my external monitors that works instead
  • Under device manager, computer detects the j5 create hub and gets message "device is working properly"
  • Reinstalled j5 drivers
  • Ran Lenovo Service Bridge to check & install for latest updates and drivers
  • Checked & updated latest windows updates
  • Went into power settings to attempt to find USB selective suspend setting (failed to find)
  • Went into CMD with admin privileges to try to get USB selective suspend setting to show up and still failed to show up
  • Several restarts and still no fix
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you in advance,

Apologies, this is my first post. I thought this post was going to be posted in tech support, but can't delete it

on the hub, just the display to monitor not working? a flash drive, mouse or keyboard work?
My apologies for the late reply. The hub's USB ports don't work either. I've tried using the hub on a different PC and it works as expected. It's just the laptop that needs it, is having a problem ever since losing power.
