Hi there,
I recently purchased an i7 4770 for my Thinkcentre M83 that currently is running an i5 4570.
My full system specs are:
i5 4570, 16GB 4x4 DDR3 1600, GTX 970, Kingston 480GB SSD and two 2 TB HDDs.
I updated the BIOS and shut down the system. I then swapped out the processors and checked all connections.
When I turn on the power everything turns on and I even hear my hard drives start but I get no post on screen.
I tried resetting my CMOS but no luck. I popped my i5 4570 back in and here I am using my old processor asking for help.
I would greatly appreciate any help getting my i7 to post. I was really excited to use this processor.

After a few searches on google it seems that the Lenovo M83 gives you the opportunity to buy the i7 when you buy the laptop and if you buy the i5 instead you don't have the same motherboard in it. People keep saying that you cannot upgrade to a i7 on that laptop if you took the i5 to begin with. Something that has to do with another motherboard revision made to work with i7.

Type "Lenovo M83 i7 upgrade doesn't work" on google.

Not sure if this is accurate but that's what I was able to find.

Hey and thanks for the reply. I'm running the M83 desktop and under Lenovos page for the desktop it says it's compatible for upgrade.
