[SOLVED] Lenovo miix 520 glass thickness

Hi,
I need to replace the glass on my miix 520, and consider to change it with plexiglass instead of, well, glass...

Do anybody know, what the thickness of the glass is?

Plexiglass is going to be more prone to scratching, to also add to how bad your idea is, the display underneath will most certainly get damaged when the plexiglass flexes and then you end up ruining the panel underneath. Final addition, the panel is actually a digitizer as well.

You can't just replace your laptop screen with plexiglass. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. It needs to not only BE glass, but usually it needs to be a specific TYPE and thickness of glass, and normally these are proprietary to a given series or model. Even just "glass" probably isn't going to work. It NEEDS to be specific to the unit. And that's if it isn't the fused type, where the display panel and glass are fused together into a single component. Not to mention, as Lutfij mentioned, having specific functionality as a digitizer or touchscreen.

If you need to replace the screen, you will need to get one specifically meant for that unit.
