Hi everyone! I recently bought Lenovo brand machine model mp92 with Intel I5 3470 on purpose because it has good CPU and my plans are to make gaming pc for about 200$, so i bought 2x4gb ddr 1600mhz fromm Kingston. They are set on 800mhz by default and i want to overclock them on 1600, so i have to set xmp profile but i didnt see some feature in BIOS named xmp or anything. So my question is does MB have to support xmp and can i set xmp on this OEM mobo?

Thanks for the answer!

Solution
I don't see where it supports XMP.

1600 MHz appears to be the maximum.

If you are seeing 800MHz....that may be the clock....in which case you are running at 1600 MHz data rate.

Not to worry.
Since ram is dual channel and you bought a 2 stick kit, you are running in dual channel mode and at 1600 speed.

XMP is used for overclocking ram which you do not need to do, nor can you and likely your bios will not have that capability.

Run cpu-Z and look at the memory tab to see what you are actually running.
