I bought a dock for my wife's work laptop. It's a Lenovo ThinkPad. The dock is also Lenovo brand. Here is the link to the support page "https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/...ng-station/40aj/40aj0135us/m5h0rvd2/contactus". I currently have 3 displays connected to the dock. One is HDMI from monitor to HDMI on the dock. Second is HDMI on the monitor to DP on the dock. Third is VGA from the monitor to VGA on the dock. My problem is that it randomly looses signal to one of the monitors. The screen is technically still there because I can move different app windows to it. It's not a specific one. Sometimes its the monitor one the right, sometimes it's the left, and sometimes the center. Sometimes its 2 at a time that go blank. I'm really confused as to what could be causing this. It's a brand new dock and brand new laptop.

I suggest contacting Lenovo and troubleshooting your issue with them. Since after all, they made the laptop and docking station.

If it were KVM switch or direct connection to the PC (e.g to desktop PC GPU), then i'd look into Windows issues, since Windows, from time to time, likes to disconnect peripherals without any apparent reason. But since you have proprietary hardware made specifically for ThinkPads, issue could be with the docking unit.
