Lenovo T60 Screen goes DARK

Have an older Lenovo T60 and the screen goes dark after a few seconds, but its still on and works with external monitor. It started all this after I installed a wireless card, worked fine until then. I cant find anything in the bios, and do not think its a bulb issue, because it works if I leave it alone for a few weeks, for a few minutes, then goes back to the few seconds and dark screen. Windows XP, I did try going back a few months in sys restore, but that did not help, and it does the same in Linux Mint. ??? Help please@!@

Sounds like it may be a power/motherboard issue. Sounds like there may not be enough power for such customizing.

Question, why install a full wireless card? Why not get a USB dongle?
