So after a second HDD dying on my thinkpad twist I took the plunge and invested in an SSD, Reinstalled windows using the recovery media, did all the updates including upgrading to 8.1, and I am getting an error now saying that the product key has been blocked. Great thing to happen on a saturday morning when Lenovo support is only open Monday-Friday...
One of the updates through the lenovo suite was a BIOS update, which after looking around apparently the Windows product ID on lenovos is contained in the BIOS, I'm wondering if mine has somehow been overwritten?
Anyhow, any help or advice you guys have for activating windows today would be much appreciated, Microsoft have been absolutely useless, I tried activating it in several ways and one rude representative on the phone told me it was an invalid key and hung up the moment I said it can't be, i've literally just done a recovery.
