Question Lenovo u410 driver storage

I have a Lenovo u410 ideapad that is starting to become very dated but it has an i7 processor.

I decided I wanted to upgrade the wireless chip to get dual band and I can’t run windows 10 on this hard drive setup because it has a 29gb msata and a 1tb hhd.

would it be best for me to just disconnect the msata and then just install a 1tb ssd 2.5 inch drive?

for the wifi I was able to get a different bios without the whitelist and install.

what you suggest on a hard drive setup?

Sorry I should clarify if I install windows on the msata which is only 29gb I won’t be able to install office and other programs.
Is it just as simple as get a 1tb ssd and hook up where where the hhd is then disconnect the msata and boot the machine like that?

What specific drive interfaces does this system have?

Remove the small mSATA, and replace the HDD with a 1TB SATA III SSD.
Reinstall your OS and everything else on the new SSD.

Ok now I am not seeing the data drive when I boot up weird. Maybe do I need to do something with my bios?

Step by step, what did you do?

1.) remove msata from the board.

1. Remove hdd and screws.
2. swap in ssd and plug in

4.) boot up system.

Now I see this and the drive is not listed

Ok I got it one of the wires to the ssd was loose. Should be ok I am installing windows now.
Is there a way I can install the old hdd into usb storage? I have lots of old music and movies

There are multiple USB enclosures for your HDD.
