The touchscreen has stopped functioning since the recent Windows 10 upgrade. Everything else works great. Anyone figured this out. There are no new drivers I can find yet Lenovo claims that this device is Windows 10 compatible.

Thanks in advance,
SECoda

Solution
Quite a few people have reported similar problems - losing touchpad functionality or gesture control when Windows 10 rolled out. The solution is almost certainly going to have to be new drivers. People with older hardware may be hosed if the manufacturer does not release a Win10 driver for older hardware. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Solution
Thanks for responding and I agree. I just don't see how they can get away with calling it compatible with Windows 10. I did wonder if maybe now it needs to be put into Tablet mode to get it to work but I really hope that would not be case.

Well, the hardware is compatible with Windows 10. It runs it. Some drivers are missing.
The drivers always lag the OS release. Windows 10 seems to be a particularly bad example of this, with a lot of 3rd parties not having Win10 drivers up on the release date. The only alternative would be for Microsoft to hold up the release to allow manufacturers to write and test drivers. Keep in mind that these companies have a lot of different kinds of hardware out there. It's only good business for them to pay attention first to what they will be selling with Win10 on it, then what they are still selling, then older models. A lot of older hardware will never have Win10 drivers written for it.

When I run Windows 10 I do something that I have never, ever done before. I use a third-party driver for one piece of my hardware. My Asus Xonar Essence sound card is to good to give up on, and Asus already has a newer version out that has Win10 support. So why should they rush to get me a driver for my old hardware, when they can hope that I buy new hardware? I consider third-party driver sites to be cesspools of malware, but the Xonar got me to use a non-OEM driver.

I would guess that the driver will come out soon. If Lenovo advertised it as compatible with Win10, I think that they will come out with a driver sooner or later.

Hello there OP,
I have the same U530Touch and I jumped on the Win 10 bandwagon, for me the touchscreen works and I didn't download any specific drivers for it.
I did however notice a bit of a overall slowdown... some people attribute it to the fact that our hybrid drives will have to relearn what files to cache in the SSD portion.
Good luck!

Really? I spoke to Lenovo and they said they were working on the problem. On the other hand my machine is much faster. The UI is quite a jump for me over Windows 8.1 was and the Edge must be cached I figured because it is near instantaneous. I really like Windows 10 because of the speed boost and don't use the Touch much . I wonder if you are using an old driver somehow. it is strange how they are all different. There are different version of the U530 Lenovo said. Mine is the I7 with 8GB ram and the hybrid drive as well. It also has the Nvidia card but they said there are 4 flavors of the U530 so maybe that has something to do with it. Overall Windows 10 was a nice jump.

My U530's model name is: 20289; this too has 8GB RAM and i7-4510U CPU with the hybrid drive.
I checked the touch screen driver in Device Manager and it's an ancient one from 2006!! Here are its details:
HID-Compliant touch screen
Provider: Microsoft
Driver Date: 6/21/2006
Driver Version: 10.0.10240.16384
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows

Hey thanks. I have the same model but no Touch driver installed at all I can find. That is the problem. I wonder why yours stayed and mine is gone? Now should I install the old one? I see it out there on Lenovo.

If you can find the same driver version for the Touchscreen I would try installing it, can't hurt since it doesn't work now :)
BTW, does your built in camera work? I just tried mine and it's not working with the latest driver updated with Device Manager...

The camera works well. I have not found that particular driver yet.

You can 'force' windows to download the driver for it: in Device Manager expand Human Interface Devices then right click on HID compliant Touch Screen and click on Uninstall, restart Win and give it a try. This just fixed my problem with the camera.
Good luck!

HID compliant Touch Screen doesn't even appear. It must have not detected it?

So I finally found the HID touch screen driver. It is hidden. When I turn on the hidden ones I see it and It contains the 2006 Microsoft touch screen driver as described above. Why is it hidden? I will uninstall as above suggestion.

Ok - I spoke to Lenovo and I now know it is a driver problem. He was surprised that someone has their U530 touch screen working on Win 10 at this point. To prove that out they had me make a One Key Image copy on an external hard drive and then reload the original load Win 8 from the hidden partition. When I did that the touch screen works like a champ again. Once I reloaded my Win 10 image it quit working. In Device Manager the system gives a 45 error code indicating this is a hardware problem. They assured me it is not and I verified that. Eventually, they will fix it. Sure glad I rarely use it.

I have a Yoga 11s, Mdl # 20242 and have had the same problem with the touchscreen driver since Win 10 update. I have found the the driver will fail randomly for no reason. Sitting idle and go to use it and it is gone. I have been uninstalling the USB driver which indicate a bad request in the device manager. Rebooting will bring it back sometimes. Other times I have to wait at least -5-10 minutes then reboot. This makes absolutely no sense at all if the computer is off.
This has become very, very annoying! Not only will the driver fail but on occasion, it will loose all my WiFi keys and I have to re-type in my passwords, or the bluetooth will shut off or not pair with already paired devices like speaker and earpiece.
I really love my Lenovo but their responsiveness to this issue sucks!
I am making a backup onekey image right now and will restore Win 8.1 unitl they fix this issue.
The touchscreen feature is one reason I bought this tablet.
