Lenovo wireless mouse stops working in Windows 10

I've got a Lenovo Ultraslim Keyboard & Mouse set, which works off a single USB receiver. I use them with two machines - a Fujitsu desktop running Windows 10 and a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7. Both keyboard and mouse worked fine on each machine.

However, the other day, the desktop did an update and since then the mouse no longer works on that machine. It's absolutely fine when on the Win 7 laptop, and the keyboard works perfectly on both.

  • It can't be the mouse batteries - it works fine on the Win 7 machine
It can't be the usb - as the keyboard and mouse both work fine on the other machine

If I go to 'Connected Devices' in Windows 10, it shows the Lenovo set but says 'Driver Error'. I've tried uninstalling the driver and restarting my computer, and uninstalling the driver and then unplugging and reconnecting the USB, and tried different USB ports. None of it has worked.

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? It's really odd.

Thanks

What version of Windows 10 do you have installed?

You uninstalled and reinstalled the Lenovo driver(s) - correct?

But did you actually download new drivers via Lenovo? Versus just using the drivers at hand?

Do try the built in Windows 10 troubleshooters. They may find and fix something. Or discover some error for you.

Type "Troubleshoot" into the "Type here to search" box.
