I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X131e I am upgrading.
Looking inside, I see an empty, what looks like and M.2 port empty with leads awaiting an upgrade.
I can't find info about what might have put the there back when this was new.
But what can I do with it now?
Also there are two of these ports. One has the wifi radio. Can I get a better, faster one that the motherboard will understand? If so, what model?
A thought, maybe the empty port is for Blutooth? I have no need for that.
I am hoping for a faster SSD in one port and a faster wifi in the other ??
Any help, suggestions, or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You might want to pass on the port that you're assuming would accept an SSD. From what I'm seeing,
the laptop will only accept 2.5" drives, either in SSD or an HDD form. The slots that seem like M.2 to me, are slots for wireless networking adapters.

Replace the HDD with a 2.5" SSD.
