Well, my Lenovo Y550P, about two years old, overheats so much now. I can't play Counter Strike: Source (a simple game), Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Just Cause 2, or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim without this damn' computer randomely shutting down on me!
I *KNOW* my airflow is fine, as I have a fan blowing away all the hot air, and I put two books on the left and right of the computer to stand on, so the whole bottom has empty space. But I still feel the freaking GPU get hot. I can't play any damn' game on any freaking settings. The game themselves run fine, 40-50 FPS Medium. But, this computer shuts down.
I see my temptures arise to 100+C, mostly my GPU. My CPU isn't the one causing this. I'm scared to open it because It's my Mom's computer, and she might get mad if I mess something up. 🙁 It was an expensive computer, and I've tried everything from airflow to fans, but other then that nothing else. How can I please fix this computer from overheating. I'm afraid It'll start getting damage soon! 🙁
