Lenovo y700 not charging

Had this laptop for about a year now and it has worked wonderfully. But the past few weeks it has randomly stopped charging for about a second or 2 then it starts charging again. Except just now, it stopped charging altogether.

There are a few times here and there where it would charge for a fraction of a second. Think the problem is the laptop itself or the charger?

Try turning the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but actually powered off) and see if it will charge then.

If it will charge when it is off, but not when it is on, then the charger is probably going bad and will need to be replaced. However, if it won't charge no matter if off or on, then it could be either the battery or the charger. In that case, I would start with replacing the battery first.
