Lesson learned: avoid GF MX anything at ALL COST

and a 3DMark2001SE score of no more than 1200!!!

switch to a Leadtech WinFast A280TD (GF4Ti4200, 64MB)
and now my score is over 7000!!!

Moral of the story: If you bought any GeForce MX, you just wasted your money. I had higher score with a GEFORCE 256 DDR!!! If all you want is a budget system then get the MX but you are better off with GF3 Ti200, it only cost a little more and its a lot faster, plus it supports DX8. Now I dont know what to do with that NT$1200 I just wasted (thats about $50 USD... can buy a CD burner, still considered alot of money here...) If you got one lying around I suggest giving it to someone you dont like.

hehehe we all knew that long ago. Tw people all thinks "oh it's a GF4 MX, it's just a little slower than Ti" that's why everyone has a MX or FX5200 in TW. They think it's good!!

by the way, i'm taiwanese too, i'm just showing how ignornent people can be.

Every CyberCafe I've been to in TW has either a MX400 or MX440, and they do suck too. Most games people play here are like DirectX 6 type of game or something that even a 2 year old computer will run fast... then the thing is so cluttered (especially in Taipei) and plus winblows 98 making their computer a pain in the @$$ to use. By the way ALL the internet cafe I've been to down south (Tainan) uses windows 2000 which is worlds better, plus you dont need to lug a floppy disk or a CD around just so you can use your keychain drive. I hated doing that... then have to pray that their floppy drive (if they got one) or CD-ROM drive works, cause most of them dont. And at NT$30 an hour its overpriced (Tainan charges like 20 a hour MAX and usually 100 for 10 hours). Makes me wonder if Taipei is the technology capitol of the world why do their cybercafe suck so much... By the way it took some work to track down a GF3/4Ti anything because most computer shops in the market (ones under the bridge that is) only either sells MX's or FX's, or ATI's (which is still too expensive for me). Im under the impression that Ti4200 is faster than FX5200's and only thing good about FX's is that they support directX 9 and eats a hell alot of power... is that true?

hehehe it's cyber cafes, what do u except? they have a revenue to keep up. If u go to smaller place where they have small cafes with like 10 computer, u'll get much better comps. And u think NT$30/ hour is expensive? come to Canada and see 😀

well that's see.... I running in TURBO mode right now which means PAT is on and the FSB is 210 CPU @ 2.54GHz, Ram setting 2.5-3-3-7. However i still freaking freeze in aquamark 3 for some reason..... -_- Also my Athlon XP 2500+ is wasting my P4 in FFXI benchmark 2 -_-
there's something wrong with the video card..... AGAIN -_-

one is ASUS Ti4200-8x 128mb
one is PNY Ti4200-8x 64mb

one has 1Gb --> 2x256mb + 1x 512mb PC2700 ram
one has 512 2x256mb PC3500 ram

yup, and did i mention MSI live update 3 sucks arse? cause it does!! the connection lags soo bad and the d/l always freezes and u have to restart the update.....
