Let's talk mouse grips

So apparently there's more than one way to grip a mouse.... who knew? (PS. I didn't)

So for the most part it seems the vast majority of people prefer a palm grip with statics i've seen saying roughly 50% of users prefer a palm grip, which provides almost total coverage of the mouse.

Then there's claw grip, where the middle parts of the fingers do not touch the mouse, really only the back of the palm, and the fingers. Roughly 30% of users use a claw grip.

Then theres fingertip grip. This is where the palm is completely off the mouse and the only contact is with the fingertips. Less than 20% of users use this grip.

So really is there any benefit to these grip types or is it just personal preference?

I'm not even sure that I neatly fall into any of these categories. I feel like I am using some kind of hybrid between claw and fingertip as the only part of my hand making solid contact with the mouse is the part of my palm closest to my fingers and the tips of my fingers.

Is there a more comfortable way to hold the mouse?

Does it have more to do with the mouse itself?

Are my hands just to big for normal mice?

Thoughts?

Nah I've got man hands too.
The orig xbox controller was almost perfect, but anything else, PS4, xbone I have to hold like I've got rat claws.
Same with a mouse, really only 3-4 fingertips touch. Guess I'm just used to it, but if you're not comfortable, may be an idea to find a shop where you can try some different ones.

I also tend to claw / fingertip with a medium size hand, currently using a G-pro which is on the small side - perfect for me since it is very light (83g) making it very flickable for my grip type, fits my style of play perfectly.

If you aren't familar with Rocket Jump Ninja, he's got a great Find a Mouse guide with recommendations for hand size, grip style and mouse weight.
