have to copy and paste. i took the top of key off and have used compressed air. Drivers are up to date and there is no errors showing in device mgr.

I would contact your local Dell service center, assuming this is a personal device. If it is issued by a school, they should have repair techs or an exchange/repair program.

But it does appear to be touch screen capable, so it isn't impossible to use.

Is this a laptop? Desktop? In either case have you tried another keyboard to confirm it is the hardware?

A cheap 104 keyboard can be had for as little as $10. A replacement part for a laptop shouldn't be too bad either. If you are comfortable installing such a thing, otherwise take it to your nearest repair shop. Probably cost at least $50 plus parts, but only you can say if that is worth it.
