Lexmark x4550 install problems

I have recently purchased a Lexmark x4550 wireless all in one printer. However, the software will not install correctly. When install program reaches the point where the scaner drivers are installed, the computer crashes - resulting in blue screen.

I have tried disabling a number of startup programs including my firewall and antivirus programs, but this has not helped.

Does anyone know of any possible hardware or software conflicts with this printer?

check your usb controllers, i have seen this before when using legacy xp usb2.0 driver from orangeware. check in device manager under the universal serial bus controllers section. Find the hub or ciontroller using the orangeware then right click and choose to uninstall the driver
