I have recently purchased a Lg 4k TV and I have a Win7 desktop with older but good components. I7 870/gtx 470/8g 1333mhz/1tb Black Cav/etc. I am trying to get it running a higher res than 1920x1080 but none are visible in options. I did create a custom res profile at 2560x1600 30hz but it wouldn't allow 60hz or 59hz. I am pretty good at setting things up but lost at the moment being my first time dealing with uhd. I have a 2.0 HDMI cable but the HDMI to mini HDMI adapter is 1.3 HDMI so what is the limit to my res and/or what is recommended for games with this setup? I am using it at 2500x1600 but seems not perfect or I need to abjust DPI maybe. Like I said any help, info, or advice would be great! Thanks!

Thanks for the advice and info! I do see now that 2560x1600 is the highest res supported. But you underestimate the performance of the older setup. I just ran Battlefield 4 at 2560x1600 at Ultra and 4x msaa with no problems except a little hicup or two. 1920x1080 is always at max settings except a little lower AA to keep it smooth. My clocks are at 700 and 1650 which keeps up with a stock 480. Thanks for the info and advice!

My 2600K at 4.5Ghz and overclocked GTX 780 are barely enough for my 32' 2560 x 1440 monitor. Your old GTX 470 and i7 870 setup is not going to be playable with newer titles. I would guess you would be lucky to get 10- 20 FPS with BF4 on Ultra at that resolution. The 1.3GB of VRAM alone cripples the card even at 1920 x 1080.
