lg BH10LS30 Blu-ray cant read any disc

I have the lg BH10LS30 Blu-ray rewritable disc + win 10 + mbo asus p6t se mbo.. and my disk drive will not read them or detect that they are there in the drive. Every time I click on the drive icon to access the CD drive it gives me the option to either use the disc as a flash drive or or burn files to CD or. The second option is grayed out so I can only use the first option. At which point he then tells me this disc is write protected and I am unable to do anything with it. My drive should be read writer combo and a Blu-ray rewrite, anyone had the same problem and solved it?

Also, it appears that there are no drivers for any OS newer than Windows Vista. Did you find/install Windows 10 drivers for the device? Have you looked into running the software in Compatibility mode?

i am not tring to burn anything just to read the data from cd..double cklick at the drive icon and i got the situation i described before ..there is no drivers for win 10 just a frimware update i did that also..i have no appication instaled for the drive so i canrun it at Compatibility mode..sry for my english

Were you ever able to read from the drive?
Can you attempt to connect it to a different SATA port on your motherboard?
