Hey guys!
I just built my new machine:
Asus x99-a motherboard
Intel Core i7 5820k
32 gb DDR 4 ram
512 GB SSD
EVGA GTX 970 FTW
Windows 7 Ultimate
My monitor is the LG34UM95 21:9 ultrawide, connected using displayport.
My question is related to the monitor going to sleep/shutting off, as per the system settings to "turn off display after x minutes".
When my display goes to sleep, it shows a gray screen with a message saying "no signal detected, entering power save mode". which is great. Then the display shuts off.. for a few seconds, until it turns back on and shows the same gray screen with the same message.
This repeats endlessly (or until the computer goes to sleep). Additionally, while this is occurring, I can hear the "plugged in, unplugged" sound that Windows makes when you plug or unplug a device.
I'm not entirely sure if this is an issue relating to the monitor, the graphics card, or system settings, so I was hoping that maybe someone else here has some experience with this problem.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Dan
