LG external hard drive servicing

Hello,
my LG 500 gb hard drive is not being detected,not only on my laptop but on any other system either!HELP!

welcome to the pains of external hdds - bad idea for backups.

try removing the hard drive from the enclosure and hooking it up internally. this is your only hope.

happened to me with a 640GB Western Digital. I removed the drive, hooked it up, but it was the drive that was faulty, not the controller in the external unit data gone!!!
