Hello i bought a brand new original battery for my lg g3 because my old one got broken (it was causing bootloop). Now the problem is when i'm still on 40% the phone shutdowns and tells me i need to charge it cause its on 0%.
When i boot the phone while charging the phone is on 40% and in the battery graph it shows a sudden drop from 40% to 0% and when i boot it it shows in the graph going up like a cliff to 40% . I heard something about the battery gauge showing the wrong information and that the battery needs calibration. I don't know what could be wrong because the battery is brand new.

A new battery may need to be calibrated. Power it up to full, say overnight. Unplug it, run it down to 0, charge it up again to full, down to 0, and once more. 3 times should be enough, then see if the charge sticks properly. If not, you may have an issue with your phone outside of the battery or the new batter is faulty. There is a more detailed version here, about half way down is when they explain how to do the calibration https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
