LG G3 significantly slower on 2.4 GHz network

I have 30 mbps down and 10 mbps up from Cincinnati bell, so the 2.4 GHz network should not be a bottleneck to my wireless speeds. I can verify that I have these speeds with any wired connection in my home. With my LG G3 VS985 running JasmineROM on android Lollipop, I get around 4.5 mbps down and 5 mbps up while on my 2.4 GHz network, but get 29 mbps down and 10 mbps up while on my 5 GHz network. Both of these tests take place right next to my router, so interference shouldn't be an issue. I also made sure to put my router on the best channel with the least amount of interference using a wifi analyzer tool. My laptop however gets the same 29 mbps down 10 mbps up results whether it's on the 5 ghz network or the 2.4 ghz network. Using this and the fact that interference isn't an issue, I definitely know that my router is not at fault for my issue. I'm not sure why my G3 would have these kinds of issues with 2.4 GHz networks, as it only started doing this around a month ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it sounds like you've done a good job troubleshooting so far. Even though it sounds like you're using the optimal 2.4 GHz channel, have you also tried a few other channels to see if there's any difference? I've had issues with Android devices on 5 GHz networks but never 2.4 GHz 🙁

It's likely this is a software issue. Have you installed any updates to JasmineROM in the past month since you noticed this problem? Does JasmineROM have a config file for wireless settings? If you're root, you can also use ifconfig to set network parameters. Either install a terminal emulator app to run it locally, or you can do it over adb.

Sorry I didn't see your post till now. Yea I figured changing channels would help also, but it didn't. I am using channel 11 at the moment, because it has the least interference. For now I will be using the 5Ghz network on my LG G3, but this does require that I have an extra network up because many of my devices don't support 5 Ghz networks like my chromecast. I just hid the SSID of the 5Ghz network so it doesnt show up on other devices that will never use it. I have not updated JasmineROM since I installed it, so I don't think it is that. I could look into using the ipconfig to set the network, but for now, the solution i have in my home is actually working quite well! Thank you so much for your help, your answer was DEFINITELY thorough, concise, and to the point!
