[SOLVED] LG GH22LS30 DVD with Windows 10 - PC sees drive but not reading any discs

I have Windows 10 build 19043, 1237 on an i5 6600K with MSI B250 PC Mate (MS-7A72) motherboard with latest bios and an in internal GH22LS30 connected via SATA. The PC sees the drive, I can eject discs and insert and hear drive spinning but no discs can be read. I'm wondering if anyone has this drive running properly in Win 10 or if it's simply not compatible with it? Thanks.

Win 10 doesn't support DVD out of the box. You have always needed software to run them in it. You can buy an app off them to support DVD.

Do you have VLC? you might be able to use it to play DVD

Do you have an letter allocated to the drive? If not, press windows+s and type create and format partitions, there you should see your drive, right click on it and allocated an letter to it.

Sorry for not clarifying more. The drive shows up in explorer. It does not work with CDs or DVDs
