I've been looking at getting a new monitor for a while now, since I only started building my PC/PC gaming about 2 years ago I've been using a 1440x900 16:10 19inch HDTV and all my money has gone onto hardware(I started with a Pentium 4 and 1GB ram with 80gb IDE HDD).

So now I have a fast system with respectable specs(ignore my signature I have no idea how to change it), I want to get a new monitor. I watch a lot of PC videos and LinusTechTips always goes on about how IPS/PLS is just amazing compared to the mainstream TN...

Anyway I just decided I could never afford one of these IPS pannels so decided to get looking for a cheap-ish 1080p monitor, they're all over £100, most about £110-150 for a 21inch and the other day I just decided to type in IPS into amazon for the crack and I find an LG one with IPS, 22inch 1080p O.O

it's the LG IPS224V, every other IPS pannel I can find is about £150+ usually with massive backs on them and crap companies, but this is like 1.5cm thick really nice looking etc. it looks like a £300 monitor

so 'what's the catch?' on this LG IPS224V monitor, anyone heard anything about it? is it so cheap because the colors look like *** and it breaks in 2 days?
