Lg monitor, Desktop

Just bought LG screen (LG Flatron IPS234)and when I plug it in, it dosent work. The only thing that happens is a little red light appears, and starts blinking. So my question is; Is it the screen that dosen't work or is it the desktop itself???

I have tried both hdmi and vga. The screen works on a seperate computer so it is not the problem. I tried connecting the computer to two seperate tv screens through HDMI but it refused to display on either

are you making sure to plug the monitor into the graphics card and not the motherboard connectors if you have a graphics card?

It was premade from the factory, so I belive it is. How do I check it?
