A customer complains and they tell him to get lost. A major news outlet gets involved and suddenly they're quite happy to investigate the matter.

i understand them gathering data on what you watch (gives you adverts based on things you watch so you might actually like the adverts)
but gathering data about files on things you have plug into the tv? that's going a bit far...

(question for people: if a company kept records on what you watch (and only what you watch) in order to deliver adverts to you based on what you watch would you have any problems with that?)

Yes, I would. The truth concerning that premise is that what they push to you is not what they think you want, but rather, what THEY want to SELL you.
