News LG to showcase 'world's first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor' at CES 2025

*drools*.. but but.. what is the subpixel layout? is it RGB (good) or BGR (bad)? BGR sucks for text clarity.

There's two models coming: the adjustable one mentioned here and a fixed one, the 950A, with LG's current awful trend of 800R curvature.

It sounds like this display will also have a dual mode option when dropped to 1080 which should help anyone buying one of these without a 5090 to go with it (a third more pixels than 4k at native resolution).

Stupidly large IMO. Dell gives us a 40" 5K2K. This needed to be an upgrade of the 38" 3840 x 1600 model at the same ~ the same size. Would buy it in a heartbeat.

Let me say too, 800R is a stupidly agressive curvature. 1800R is nice on 38-40", so maybe 1500R for a 45" would be ok, but not on a cold day in hell would I use 800R. AT least you can alter it to taste on the 990A model but the 950A is stuck with that 800R.

Also, games are stupidly realistic, graphics cards are stupidly powerful, modern CPUs are stupidly fast, and disk storage is stupidly cheap.
