I'm having trouble with my LG U8120 phone manager software - it opens
up but it won't connect. I click on the connect button in the contents view
it tries to connect but I then get this message:" Failed to connect to the
handset. Please check COM port and connect in the idle screen.". In the
contacts view I get" failed to open/create registry
keySOFTWARE\.....-REPORT-CTRL" it then gives a call stack with a load of
other information.
So consequently I have no way of downloading my pictures, sounds etc. to or
from my computer/handset.
Have reinstalled it several times. With and without the phone and cable
connected Have gone into LG phone manager - contents - transfer - set COM
port - the bottom part of that window is not there i.e. the connection
method part, and I don't have an asterisk beside any of the ports.
Been to the device manager on Windows. The LGU8XXX ports, modems and USB
ports
are all there.
Have been in contact with LG with no help.
Have a Sony Vaio desktop computer with Windows XP home edition with SP 2
installed.

The LG Desktop manager and sync. by the way, work fine!

Any ideas - anyone?

Did it work prior to SP2 being installed or has it ever worked for you?
