I phoned LG for a list of stores that might have an LG1710B on display so I could see 1 demonstrated. LG gave me the name of Evesham and their phone number as 1 possible retail outlet that might have an LG1710B on display. So I phoned Evesham who said that they didn't have any LG1710B in stock but did have Phillips 170B4BS monitors in stock, which were exactly the same! Does anybody know anything about this? Is the Phillips 170B4Bs indeed identical to the LG1710B? I had a quick look at the specification of the Phillips and I'm sure it said the response time was 25 m/s (compared to the LG's 16 m/s)? Would be grateful for any advice on this.

In all likelihood it uses the same tft panel as the lg. However every company designs the driving circuitry differently. Thus the panel may have the same specs but perform differently. True responce time and color reproduction may be affected. If the listed responce times are so different it is also possible the panels are not the same. Ask who manufactures the tft panel used in the moniters.
