Hi,

I am working on an old Asus P5Q and I used the 771 to 775 mod to put a Xeon inside.

So now I have a nice X5450 Xeon working on my old P5Q board.

On the subject on cooling there are very nice LGA 1150/51/55/56 CPU cooler that I want to use for their price/performance ratio (like the Cryorig M9i)

I know that the socket 775 and 1150/51/55/56 have the mounting hole in different places and that it will not fit but I was wondering is there was some king of universal mounting bracket or adapter that I could use to have the 1150/51/55/56 cooler fit in my 775 socket?

I don't want to do to some geto dremelling.

Thank you.

There is no adapter that I'm aware of for the aftermarket that will allow it. There are probably cooler model SPECIFIC adapters available from the manufacturers of some of these coolers though, that will.

ALL of these coolers are compatible with your socket 775 platform.

The Thermalright Macho rev.B for fifty bucks is practically impossible to beat for that socket, or any socket for that matter. Unless your build requires a very low profile cooler due to case height restrictions.
