So I am still with sandy bridge and planning to upgrade next year on LGA 1150 if it's still going to be the socket after broadwell. Are there any rumors or should I go for Broadwell. Planning to upgrade March next year.

PS: I heard that even though it's lga 1150, you can't use broadwell for H81,B85,H87, Z87 mobos?

After Broadwell its skylake. Intel change sockets mainly due to different power setups. Skylake should release on a LGA 1151 socket size and will therefore be incompatible with the latest broadwell. I would recommend waiting for skylake as its set to be a massive jump in performance and broadwell vs sandy bridge isnt that mind blowing. The only problem here a skylake release isnt due until the end of next year/ beginning of 2016.
Broadwell chips will only be compatible with 9 series motherboard. Whereas Haswell is expected to work on 9 series aswell as the current 8 series. This is something to do with the CPU pin contacts. i.e. Intel screwing you into a mobo upgrade. Broadwell however will not be an impressive upgrade and I would seriously recommend waiting for sky lake.

I see. I guess I should just wait till 2016 huh. It's originally my plan, actually.
