So I am building a new rig, and am looking for a good motherboard to match my CPU. I am split between buying an i7-3770 and an i7-4770. The 3770 has an LGA 1155 socket while the 4770 has an LGA 1150 socket. Therefore, I'm gonna need a different motherboard for either one. For the 3770, I was thinking the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77. I am looking for a motherboard of similar quality to this one but with the correct socket for the 4770. I thought this might be good, the ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87, but I wasn't sure. I have listed my specs below if anyone might be able to find any other issues. Thanks a bunch!

Z87 PRO is basically the same as Z77 V-PRO except Z87 PRO has more features like extra SATA ports and more powerful vrm's for overclocking and etc.

Alright, thanks for the quick response, I just wasn't sure that it was the same. Once I decide on the processor I will know what to go for now. Thanks for your help!

You're welcome. Don't forget to pick me as the solution. I would totally appreciate it 😉

I had one more question regarding the Z87 Pro, do you know if it also supports Nvidya SLI so I would have the ability to double up in the future? Thanks again.

Z87 PRO supports either Dual SLI or Crossfire configurations. Actually if you check my signature, I have a Z87 PRO with a pair of GTX 770's running perfectly. Just make sure to upgrade your PSU to at least 750W :)

I'm crying to buy one gtx 770 :heink:.... would be enough to play bf3, crysis3, MWF3 on ultra settings at 1080p? (One GTX 770) using core i5 4670k and motherboard Msi GD65 Z87 gaming?

Yes it would be enough to play those games in Ultra with 30-70fps.
