what is the purpose of the LGA 1156 on the motherboard?

to fit lga 1156 cpus on the motherboard.

they are the series of cpus model like
i7 950 = LGA 1366
i5 2500k = LGA 1155
core 2 duo e8400 = LGA 775

you can't change there combination to fitting a cpu type on a uncompatible LGA.

If i can order it correctly, Intel first Released its 1366, then its 1156 then 1155, I know i made a mistake in there some where but its one over the other. the 1155 is the most popular and the 2011 X79 is also.
