LGA 1366 i7 vs Xeon Compatibility

I wonder if X58 chipset i7 motherboards like GA-x58 or P6T are directly compatible to 1366 Xeon processors?

Manufacturer site says that (P6T) only 1366 i7 CPU supported...

So i wanted to ask if 1366 Xeon CPUs work directly without modding or BIOS microcode updating?
In it needs some modding then which ones?

They will work, but you will need to update the bios to F3. Updating the bios is pretty straight forward, so I don't think I would call it "modding". Here is the CPU support list for the GA-X58.

I don't see the Xeon listed on the support the P6T.

Update your bios to the latest there is and you will be fine. Have an Asus rampage 3 extreme that the CPU list only shows i7's being the highest compatible but have ran a Xeon X5675 and a X5690. I now have the X5675 installed in my brother Evga x58 board and its running just fine.
